Ken Atkinson

Ken has over 25 years of ownership and leadership experience, including emerging market experience and over 25 years Asian experience. He started his career in banking focused on corporate lending, project finance and loan restructuring. I was assigned the position of General Director of a Deposit Taking subsidiary in Hong Kong and then managed the negotiation and syndication for the first project financing in the PRC in 1979/80 for the Great Wall Sheraton Hotel. After 14 years he set up his own consultancy business advising clients on developing and funding projects in the PRC and Vietnam, with some experience in Thailand and Philippines. and my clients included Nordic Bank PLC, Postipannki, Sara Hotels, SAS International hotels and others. This evolved and relocated to Vietnam in 1989 where he affiliated with and became a member form of Grant Thornton International. Until 2019 he was an equity Partner and founding shareholder with Grant Thornton Vietnam running the Corporate Finance and Consulting divisions and 2004 to 2014 as Managing Partner. He has gained a lot of experience in the Private Equity, Real Estate and the Tourism and Hospitality sectors having worked for owners, developers and operators on a consultancy basis.
