Food Source International Vietnam was established in 2017 and is part of the Australian-based Mulwarra group. The Vietnamese subsidiary works as a reliable premium food importer and distributor. Their premium, consistent quality and traceable products supply many of Vietnams finest hospitality and retail outlets.

The challenge.

During the initial period when Covid hit, many of Food Source’s B2B customers in Vietnam reduced purchases given Covid’s considerable impact on the hospitality sector in Vietnam. Food Source Vietnam chose to pivot and to accelerate their direct-to-consumer offering, and as an existing client of Acclime Vietnam, they came to Acclime for further assistance.

Our solution.

Acclime Vietnam was engaged to assist Food Source with understanding the requirements of e-commerce businesses in Vietnam for foreign investors, with Acclime providing a complete overview of the requirements and roadmap to license and open an e-commerce store. This process commenced with the initial documentation, the licensing prerequisites and then the sub-licensing provisions.

We worked with Food Source to ensure they met the many requirements under relevant legislation, supported by preparing the full set of applications to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, we registered the online portal with the authority, created the necessary accounts to access the MOIT system and registered the e-commerce website.

The result.

Acclime Vietnam delivered a full-service solution, so that Food Source International Vietnam and their online platform www.thefoodshop.vn were positioned to continue their growth in the market in a compliant manner, notwithstanding the pivot that was thrust upon them.
